DEFINITION
a simple description of the element

AKA
Stormwater infiltration basin

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
how is it measured? what are the criteria for its design or planning?
The media in infiltrator beds can either be made of natural or man made filler materials.
One measure of the media's performance is how well it removes pollutants.
Another measure is relative storage capacity or void space.
GEOdek (a proprietary product) provides greater than 97% storage capacity. This is an important consideration when infiltration beds must be sized to 'absorb' a specified amount of runoff.
