Hello GI Wiki,
I am reasearching green infrastructure pertaining to urban stormwater management and runoff. I am interested in finding empirical results on the efficacy of some of the mostly commonly used BMPs. More specifically, I would like to know what types of BMPs can reduce the most common pollutants, lessen the risk of CSOs and reduce stormwater overflows in MS4s. I am trying to assess (in general terms) which types of BMPs work the best for which areas and how scale-able each BMP is. Does anyone have any solid resources for this kind of data? I am finding bits and pieces but feel like I am missing something obvious that maybe someone here has some experience with. Thank you in advance for any help provided.

Hi Nate, after your excellent presentation in São Paulo, and looking at your "table of elements" I have to imagine that you are familiar with Christopher Alexander's Pattern Language. I was wondering why you wouldn't refer to your system as a Pattern Language for Green Infrastructure. This would make a lot of sense, considering that Green infrastructure elements will, in real life, interact with Town Elements, Transportation Elements etc.
If you have a look at Alexander's pattern for "Green Streets" it will probably help you with definitions.
Friends of mine are use pattern languages for describing and designing man-machine interfaces, and I think your layered approach is a very rich extension to the concept of pattern languages.

We have national parks and pocket parks, etc. I see two options, either put those types of parks as subsets of "Parks" or let them be and use this page for city parks such as Seattle's Arboretum or NYC's Central Park. Parks that are larger than pocket parks and urban.
